DHARNA IN FRONT OF PARLIAMENT – An Appeal

Brothers & Sisters,

A joint meeting of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh affiliated Trade Union segments of Insurance Sector i.e. NOIW, NOINO, NOIP & BLIAS  was held recently at Kolhapur on 27th & 28th June, 2011. The meeting had a detailed discussion on the issues like proposed ‘LIC Act Amendment Bill’ & ‘Hike in FDI in Insurance Sector’ most likely to get tabled during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament commencing on 1st of August 2011 at New Delhi. The meeting decided unanimously to protest the proposals of such bills jointly, visualizing the gravity and concerns of Nationalised Insurance Sector, Workforce (both Adminstrative and Marketing), Policyholders and the Public in general getting  affected adversely due to such proposals.

As such, the joint meeting of these segments unanimously decided to organize a programme “MAHA DHARNA” in front of Parliament at New Delhi jointly on 1st of August  2011 between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm on the very first day of Monsoon Session of House to protest the proposed bills and proposals of the Govt at the Centre to safeguard the interest of Nation, Industry and the general Public.

The venue proposed for said programme is “JANTAR MANTAR”, New Delhi. The meeting decided to make joint appeal to all concerned for maximum participation in the said programme.

The meeting also took a decision to carry out mobilization activity to ensure maximum participation for the programme & also create awareness among the employees. Accordingly it is decided to hold joint Seminars of NOIW/NOINO/NOIP/BLIAS at centres like Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mysore and Nagpur at the earliest on this issue.

In view of the above and looking to the gravity and concern involved for all of us to the issues proposed by the Govt at the Centre during Monsoon session of Parliament, we appeal the Insurance fraternity and workforce nationwide to participate in the programme of MAHA DHARNA before Parliament on 1st August 2011 at New Delhi with huge numbers and make the protest more strong and stern.

With appeal for Chalo Delhi on 1st August 2011
